Excursions In Turkiye Gallary
Kekova, Turkiye
Kekova is an incredible place to see! Nestiled in the inland side of an island off the mainland is this 3000 year old Greek town. You see this site by boat tour. From the boat you slowly cruise by the rock faces you see in my photos. In them you will see carved doorways, windows, and wall structures illustrating the existence of manmade homes on this island. In addition, you will find stairways into these structures and up the pathways between them as they were built close together.
At one point the boat will cruise where you are able to look down through a port hole in the bottom to view part of the town that is sunken beneath the water.
From there the boat will take you to a wonderous swimming area where you can simply float in the sea water. No lifejackets are needed here if you have basic swimming skills. I felt like I could nap in this water!
This is just one example of the wonder excursions in Turkiye that you and your family can experience!
Lycian Rock-Cut Tombs of Myra and Myra Ruins in Demre, Turkiye
This is a very interesting site. The Tombs of Myra are ancient tombs that were cut into the cliffside. The detail of these tombs is incredible and they have been preserved wonderfully.
The Myra Ruins are on the same site. This was the site of an ancient theater. Here you can explore the large theater and its seating. If you have a singer in the group, this is the time for them to go down to the stage area and let their voice shine. The acustics are fantastic!
You can also see the many carvings that were used to indicate things in the play such as whether it is a drama, comedy, etc.
These are a great set of excursions in Turkiye!
Saint Nicholas Church, Demre, Turkiye
Standing for 700 years, this is the church of Saint Nicholas. The preservation efforts of this church are amazing. Regardless of your religious beliefs, this is a must see site. The detail of the stone structure is amazing! Check out the pictures and put this on your list of excursions in Turkiye!
Antalya Day Tour: Aspendos, Perge, Anatalya Harbor/Old Town, and Kursunlu Waterfall
Antalya City Tours come in all shapes and sizes. There are so many things to see. This was our city tour. It had a mix of history, city, and nature. It was broken up with a wonderful seabass lunch overlooking the harbor and afternoon tea/coffee at a little place hidden somewhere near Kursunlu.
These photos are just a small selection of what we saw. But this tour, and all the rest on this page were made that much better by our wonderful guide. She was so knowledgeable in the history of the region and just a pleasure to speak with. There is no doubt that she made our excursions in Turkiye amazing!
